The Confession

Torture me I do condone,
Beat me ‘till I’m skin and bone.
For only then may I atone,
Seek the tranquility I had known.

From life to fatality,
But a sinister thought away,
What courage, what fool!
What lunacy had led me astray?

Now I burn in eternal flames
With no one but myself to blame
What horror, what awe,
What cynicism as I lay aflame.

Torture me I do condone,
Beat me ‘till I’m skin and bone.
For only then may I atone,
Seek the tranquility that’s forever gone.
